Project of the week – Merkur Palota
Historic Heritage and Contemporary Innovation: The Merkur Palota in Budapest
As part of our #InnovativeProjects this week, we have nominated the Addval Group’s „Merkur Palota“ project as the #ProjectoftheWeek. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Addval Group on this unique development. As a PropTech start-up that drives innovation, we like to shine the spotlight on very special property projects every week. So what makes this building in Budapest so special? If you look back at our previous #innovativeProjects, you will see that we have focused on new build projects. Today, however, with the Merkur Palota in Budapest we would like to highlight for the first time a unique revitalisation project.
Nestled in the heart of Budapest
Standing majestically on Nagymező Street in Budapest’s 6th district, the Merkur Palota is a historic building of inestimable value that has retained its cultural significance and is now experiencing a new renaissance on 3 levels. Merkur Palota has a wide range of uses. In addition to office part, the building also houses exclusive penthouse apartments that offer residents unparalleled views of the city and the Apacuka restaurant with a unique design.
Revitalisation with innovative technology
Three floors of the Merkur Palota are currently being revitalised. The latest technology and materials are being used to create modern office space without compromising the historic splendour of the building. The result will undoubtedly be a harmonious symbiosis of tradition and innovation. This project is an impressive example of how historic buildings can be preserved and used in a contemporary way. This unique revitalisation project in Budapest is an investment in the future and proves that innovation does not only take place in the field of new building development.
